Jerry grew up in South Eastern Iowa and didn't realize his passion for education until later in his career. He had a struggle with education growing up, and that is what makes him the compassionate educator he is today. Those experiences taught him to be more patient and he went to work as an early childhood special education teacher for about 10 years before he became a student teacher and practicum supervisor at the University of Northern Colorado. Jerry also helped to co-found Dreamcatcher Learning Center Franchise Corporation.

Sara Rasmussen’s passionate belief that every child can learn, has shaped her educational journey.  Her 21 years of educational service has provided opportunities as a teacher, an instructional coach, an assistant principal, a principal and a director overseeing elementary and EC-8 schools.  In all of these roles, Ms. Rasmussen has played an integral and collaborative part in moving schools from failure to success.  She has a strong vision on how to reimagine teaching and learning, so that today’s students can be successful for tomorrow’s opportunities.  Knowing that the environment can be as important as the instruction, she has served on the design committee for a new EC-8 school, hired and mentored the principal and focused on ensuring the middle school expectations met the required rigor needed to move into the high school setting.  In Sara’s pursuit of equity and access for each and every student, she continues to uncover the barriers to student success and support leaders and teachers with strategies needed to provide the best learning opportunities every day.
